Personalized Domain Names
A domain name is a label that identifies the location—or "address"—of a website on the Internet and directs Web browsers just like the street address on an envelope. (Example: http://www.yourbusinessname.com) Publishing your website (and receiving your email) at your company's own domain name conveys the impression of a well-established, professional firm, so you can compete more effectively with larger companies. Registering a domain name costs an average of $5 to $20 per year if you do it yourself, but it's included with any Homestead Websites account. We'll even handle the renewals for you.
Data Transfer (Bandwidth)
The amount of information visitors can download (and upload, if your website contains forms or blogs) from your website over a specified period of time. When a visitor views a page on your website, the text and images that make up that page travel from our server to their computer via the Internet. The bandwidth included with your account is the maximum volume of data that can be transferred to and from your website in a month. The larger your files, and the more visitors you have, the more bandwidth you'll need. If you're not sure how much bandwidth you need, our staff can help you.
